A battling and spirited performance from Bude failed to land their first points of the season at Broadclose on Saturday. It was the Seasiders who took the lead in the 10th minute when Jack Watson whipped in a corner only for it to be deflected into his own net by a Mousehole defender. After that Mousehole took control and forced the home keeper Gary Dinshaw into a string of excellent saves. Dinshaw's heroics looked to have ensured Bude went in ahead at half time, however with a few minutes to go Mousehole were level when Matt Mcilroy scrambled home from 4 yards.
The second half saw Bude take more control in the game with some decent periods of pressure without really troubling the Mousehole kepper. The game turned however when Mcilroy's 20 yard strike dipped under the crossbar in the 70th minute. That goal was to prove the difference between the sides and despite some sustained late pressure from the hosts it was the visiting side who ended the game with three points.
